I have sourced Pictures of Khoi-san Tribes, but what stands out the most is the Khoi-san woman with their children. This gave me an idea of my story. There are different types of patterns including "Bushmen" Hottentot's, which is a part of the Khoi-san culture and can be used as inspiration for my pattern. This Mood Board also includes aspiring material [wooden epoxy resin]to use for this competition.

Story
The first sensation of warmth was fed to me in my mother's womb. Her caring nature, no one can imitate. She freed me into the world with the sky as my limit. All the days of my life I sought out the warmth only her meals could provide. Culture has taught me how sacred a mother is. Even when this life gets cold, I know ill find warmth in my mother. And just like half of the South African households my mother had double the responsibility in my upbringing. The maternal side of my family has a Khoi-san descendant, I was raised by them from a very young age up until the age of five only because my mother didn't want me to see the abusive side of my father at such a young age. Ever since I started living with my mother again I drew strength from her sacrifice. I imbibed aspects of her that shaped my being.
